The Wikipedia of bad similes

shitmystudentswrite:

Politics is what happens when social structures want to edit themselves, almost as if they are the Wikipedia of bad similes.

We are caged by our cultural programming. Culture is a mass hallucination, and when you step outside the mass hallucination you see it for what it’s worth.

March 9 2013
This was the best day—best in that it was simple. It was a beautiful day, sunny but not overly warm. I left home early in the morning and read a bit at this sketchy coffee place, then met up with the boyfriend for brunch. The food was generally tasty, the conversation even better. We spent the day wandering around, shopping but not buying anything in particular, and even though we were both tired as hell, we didn’t snap at each other or say anything rude at all, as tends to happen when people are tired. It was nice.
Afterwards I met up with my family for dinner to celebrate my brother’s new job. We went to this Chinese restaurant for the first time, and the food was delicious and inexpensive.
Just a day I want to remember because it reminded me that life is all about the little things.
