Hemingway: Have you ever made love to a truly great woman?
Gil: Actually, my fiancé is pretty sexy.
Hemingway: And when you make love to her you feel true and beautiful passion. And you for at least that moment lose your fear of death.
Gil: No, that doesn’t happen.
Hemingway: I believe that love that is true and real creates a respite from death. All cowardice comes from not loving, or not loving well, which is the same thing. And when the man who is brave and true looks death squarely in the face like some rhino hunters I know, or Belmonte, who’s truly brave. It is because they love with sufficient passion to push death out of their minds, until the return that it does to all men. And then you must make really good love again. Think about it.
Obviously I’m not as cultured as Woody Allen but…
+ Woody Allen movies, Greek mythology, John Keats, Polaroids, love, friends, family, cats, holding someone’s hand, Audrey Hepburn, grace, prayer, the smell of Dove body wash, Seoul, Emma Thompson, Little Women, friendly strangers, sleeping in, children, fairy tales, late night conversations, daffodils, the Met, travel, puns, The Beatles, gifts, baby photos, being awake for the sunrise
When you really know who you are and what you like about yourself, changing for others isn’t such a big deal.

Reflection on Reading Week:
Weird, weird feelings.
Spent so little money I surprised myself.
Shopping haul = 2 nail polishes, wuut.
But yeah.
Weird, weird feelings.
Kind of glad those will be going away.
